This is my log of everything exciting that happened to me on 12/15/01 at my parents' gas station.
Understandably, it's rather sparse.
5:28 pm
32 minutes till my shift and still nothing exciting. Sigh. Must stop drinking Vanilla Frappuchinos. Caffeine makes me write.
5:32 pm
It's so gross when guys ask for the restroom key, then leave and come back and give it back to you wet. I mean, it could just be water from the sink, but you never know, you know?
Ew.
5:36 pm
On the big list of Jobs That Help You Get Dates, I don't think "gas station cashier" is very high.
Caffeine makes me write.
6:44 pm
The last hour has mostly been typing inventory into the dusty old upstairs computer and freezing. My hands are so numb I can't tell whether or not they're cramped from punching in numbers.
And there's nobody online to talk to.
6:53 pm
I don't think you have any idea how freakin' cold it is right now. It hurts to type.
7:05 pm
My mom and I just scratched off four $1 Lotto tickets (I'm not eighteen yet, so this is only slightly illegal):
We won $2 and another Lotto ticket.
We're beating the system!
7:11 pm
Woohoo my dad brought back Chinese food.
Orange chicken munch munch.
7:23 pm
Chow mein had too much lettuce in it. Hot, soggy lettuce is notsodelicious.
7:25 pm
Now I have to move our van which my dad parked right in front of the store entrance. I don't have my license with me, so hopefully I won't hit anyone en route to a parking spot.
7:48 pm
Still cold.
The door's closed as to not let in any more cold, but it slams really hard. So, without any variance, every time a customer comes in, they scream when the door slams behind them at 80 MPH.
It's fun anticipating that.
8:19 pm
A guy in a Stussy shirt and some gym shorts came in and exclaimed, "It's FREEZING out there!"
Some people.
8:34 pm
This is climbing the charts as The #1 Entry Charlie Regrets Writing The Most.
8:48 pm
Well now my dad and I are off to the local electronics store go gawk at stuff.
10:18 pm
Well, looking at flashy electronic gadgets for an hour was fun. Thankfully, now it's time to close up shop and go home...thus putting and end to this horribly long and horribly wrong entry.
Been fun.
